RP Acoustic Music Circle
Are you looking for a cozy place to jam with other musicians? This is a drop-in for musicians ages 16+, to make some music. Bring your acoustic musical instrument - wind, string, keyboard or percussion. (instruments are not provided) This is a great way for local musicians to share their work with the community. This is for emerging artists or bands, who may not have access to traditional venues or performance opportunities and/or for more experienced musicians looking to hone their performance skills, experiment with new material, and test out ideas. This music performance circle can provide exposure to a variety of music genres (classical, jazz, rock, folk, pop, etc.), as well as new and experimental forms.

Volunteers needed for Race Weekend Hydration Station in Manor Park
Volunteers are a key part of the Ottawa Marathon Race Weekend! You can be part of the action – right here in Manor Park – by volunteering to help at the ‘Hydration Station’ on May 24 from 6 am to 12:30 pm at the corner of Acacia Avenue and the Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway. Each year, it takes over 50 volunteers to fill and serve 20,000 cups of water or electrolyte replacement. And it’s fun! For details and to register, please visit this link.

Find your next read at the Rockcliffe Park Spring Book Sale on Saturday, April 25, from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, April 26, from 11 am to 5 pm, at the Rockcliffe Park Community Centre, 380 Springfield Road. More than 25,000 donated books will be available at bargain prices. Proceeds from the sale support the Rockcliffe Park library branch and the wider library system. Cassandra Feature Film Screening - April 24
Everyone is welcome to a screening of Cassandra, a 72-minute Canadian drama about Seymour, an autistic musician whose world shifts when his support worker leaves. Cassandra is an independent Canadian feature film made in Ottawa by emerging local director and filmmaker Ben Bergeron. The screening takes place on April 24, from 7 to 10 pm, in the drama room at the Rideau Community Hub, 815 St. Laurent Blvd. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.
Beechwood Cemetery Macoun Marsh Reopening - April 22
After three years of careful planning and restoration, Macoun Marsh is naturally reopening this spring. Everyone is welcome on Earth Day, April 22 at 1 pm, for a first look at the life returning to this unique wetland at Beechwood Cemetery. This revitalization was made possible through generous community donations, with support from the TD Friends of the Environment Grant and Rural Clean Water Program. Come celebrate Earth Day and witness the marsh stirring back to life. The event takes place at the Macoun Marsh, close to the St. Laurent entrance. For details, visit beechwoodottawa.ca.

The Gloucester Historical Society hosts a special presentation "Helping Hands: A Culture of Mutual Support in Old New Edinburgh" by author and storyteller Janet Uren, featuring life in the New Edinburgh section of the former Gloucester Township. The event takes place April 26, from 2 to 4 pm, at MacKay United Church, 39 Dufferin Road. Everyone is welcome. Admission and parking are free. Volunteer Ottawa’s Volunteer Week Celebration is an annual gathering that brings together everyone involved in Ottawa’s non-profit, charitable, and volunteer sectors to celebrate the impact of volunteering and strengthen cross-sector connections. The 2026 edition, Connected Ottawa, marks an exciting collaboration with Rideau-Rockcliffe Councillor Rawlson King and will be hosted at Ottawa City Hall on April 24, from 7 am to 10 am. This event welcomes community leaders and advocates, non-profit and charity leaders, volunteer managers and coordinators, funders and corporate partners and municipal representatives and sector allies. Admission is free. Advance registration is required.

Black and racialized youth ages 14 and up are invited to participate in the African, Caribbean & Black Wellness Resource Centre's Rooted & Rising Workshop on mental health, wellness and identify, every other Tuesday from March 24 to June 30, 5 to 7 pm, at 610 Donald Street.
