- Volunteer Opportunities in the Community
During the pandemic, the community associations of Cardinal Glen, Lindenlea, Manor Park, New Edinburgh, Overbrook, Rockcliffe Park and Vanier have come together to optimize tools and resources during the pandemic. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up on the Ottawa Cares website.
We would like to thank Manor Park and the Rideau Rockcliffe Community Resource Centre for taking the lead on this project.

Donate
Many organizations are in need of donations during this time. Here are a few suggestions if you are interested in making a donation.
Rideau Rockcliffe Community Resource Centre is supporting neighbours in our ward who are struggling with food insecurity. They have a goal of raising $25,000 for their emergency food bank. To donate, follow the link below and select Emergency Food Bank Program from the drop down list. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/rideau-rockcliffe-community-resource-centre/
The Education Foundation is working with the OCDSB and is supporting vulnerable families with basic needs. They have created a new fund called Bridges Over Barriers. This fund is providing students and their families with grocery cards to meet their most basic need for food. Social workers are referring families to the fund once all community resources (including local food banks) have been exhausted. You can find out more information and donate here: https://www.educationfoundationottawa.ca/helping-students-2/bursary/bridges-over-barriers/
Ottawa Good Food Box helps people with limited financial and physical access to be able to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at a reasonable cost. They are delivering the boxes to homes free of charge. You can purchase a box for a family in need here: https://www.ottawagoodfoodbox.ca/product-page/donate-a-box or you can donate to them through the Rideau Rockcliffe Community Resource Centre.
The Ottawa Food Bank is helping put food on the table for residents of Ottawa. With increased demand for services during the pandemic, they need your support. Donate at https://www.ottawafoodbank.ca/donate/
